How do I list temp work on a resume? Do I elaborate on skills used or do I state the clients I temped for?
I am currently temping full time but I am starting to look for more stable, permanent employment. I’ve only temp’d with several clients of my employer for several weeks and sometimes months. I cannot possibly put on my resume I’ve worked for these companies since I am working for a temp company. How can I state this imformation accurately and relevantly?
You can list the name of the agency and just put "various temp assignments, then list the dates for that agency. If any of the assignments are relevant to the job you’re applying for, you can list them all under one heading. Saves you space and makes your resume look cleaner. If you list each one separately, even if the employer knows they were back-to-back and all for the same agency, it just looks like job-hopping and could hurt your chances. Also, if any of the agency’s clients were clients or competitors of the company you’re applying for, list them with the detail for your temp jobs.
Good luck!

is there a list of skills you can choose to put in a resume?
im trying to make a resume and cover letter. i cant think of any skills to put in. when i was in high school i remember there being a list of skills and words to describe yourself when making a resume. does anyone know where i can find one online without possibly having to pay for it. i would very much appreciate it.
You have to list your own skills! a list of anything from anyone else won’t match your personal skillset.
your list of skills should start very specific, and can get more general:
- Keyboarding/typing (list speed)
- Proficient at various computer applications including: …(list)
- Relevant degree or training, (i.e. CPR trained, AD/400 certified) – List foreign languages you can speak, read and write
- Computer skills include website design and implementation (list programs used or show website url as example)
- Excellent team player
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Work well under pressure
don’t list:
hobbies, irrelevant skills like dancing or bowling, certifications or licenses that you don’t have, or anything too personal.
Good luck!
Think of what you can do well, what you enjoy to do, and list those qualities. I am sure it won’t be too hard once you get started.

I was a cheerleading coach for 4 years, 2 of which I was the Head Coach for the whole organization. I want to know if it would be a good idea to put that on my professional resume (Office Management) to show management experience?
